Project

Prepared to work in hospitality

Introduction

Interactive education at mbo and hbo schools on working conditions, rights and good employment practices in the hospitality sector.

Target

The future of the hospitality industry starts in the classroom. Every year, thousands of students start training in hospitality or hospitality. They form the next generation of professionals, managers and entrepreneurs. To enter the working field well prepared, students need an understanding of working conditions, rights, working hours, safety, pay and personal development. This project ensures that students, teachers and trainers receive up-to-date information.

Target

Students, teachers, practical trainers and educational institutions in intermediate and higher vocational courses within the hospitality sector.

Result

The Horecabond has been providing interactive information sessions at mbo schools for years. In 2026, this project will be broadened and strengthened by:

  • Reach more schools and students with up-to-date information.
  • Develop new forms of work to suit education levels (MBO and HBO).

The project provides up-to-date and accessible information on working conditions, rights and good employment practices within education. Students gain insight into their possibilities and responsibilities so that they are well prepared to enter the work field. Teachers and practical trainers receive practical knowledge and teaching materials appropriate to the sector.

This approach creates a stronger connection between education and the labour market. It contributes to sustainable labour relations and a future-proof hospitality sector, in which both employees and employers are well-informed.
