The hospitality industry is a fantastic sector with hard-working creative entrepreneurs. They go out of their way every day to give guests a great experience. But the sector also has challenges. It is difficult to find and retain the right employees. The image of (working in) the hospitality industry could be better. And education does not always connect well with practice.
We can only tackle these challenges together. That is why employers and employees' organisations agreed in the Horeca CLA 2024 to set up a new development fund, which is HOP.
Investing in the future together
Employers - and employees have agreed in the collective labour agreement that everyone working in the hospitality industry makes a small contribution to HOP. Namely 0.1% of the contributory wage for the employer and 0.1% for the employee.
With this money, HOP will fund activities and projects that contribute to, for example:
- Improving working conditions in the hospitality industry.
- Better linking education to practice.
- Strengthening the image of (working in) the hospitality industry.
- Getting new people excited about a future in the hospitality industry.
To ensure that the hospitality industry remains an attractive sector to do business and work. Now and in the future.
2025 launch phase
HOP is currently still in its start-up phase. This year, the first projects and initiatives contributing to the future of the sector will start. As soon as more is known about the first projects that will be funded from HOP, you will find it on this website.
