Working in the hospitality industry is more than a part-time job: it is a profession in which you can grow and develop. In which you can build your future. But the sector also has challenges. Think of a shortage of staff. The work sometimes demands a lot from the people working there. And the image of working in the hospitality industry could be better.
We can only tackle these challenges together. That is why employers and employees' organisations agreed in the Horeca CLA 2024 to set up a new development fund, which is HOP.
Investing in the future together
Employees and employers have agreed in the collective agreement that everyone working in the hospitality industry will make a small contribution to HOP. Namely 0.1% of the contributory wage for the employee and 0.1% for the employer.
With this money, HOP will fund activities and projects that contribute to, for example:
- Improving working conditions in the hospitality industry.
- Better linking education to practice.
- Strengthening the image of (working in) the hospitality industry.
To ensure the hospitality industry remains an attractive sector to work in, now and in the future.
2025 launch phase
HOP is currently still in its start-up phase. This year, the first projects and initiatives contributing to the future of the sector will start. As soon as more is known about the first projects that will be funded from HOP, you will find it on this website.
